• Attorneys Melissa Gross-Arnold and Dan Richardson have joined Lewis, Longman & Walker as shareholders. Gross-Arnold is board certified by The Florida Bar as an expert in City, County and Local Government Law while Richardson brings over 32 years of legal experience to the firm. • Country music singer/songwriter Donovan Chapman has retained Brian Rowland and Brian Pincket of the law firm of Lindell Farson Pincket & Davis. Rowland’s family has been in the radio business for over 50 years and has owned several country stations across the Southeast including WQIK in Jacksonville.
• After being unable to appoint City Council member Gwen Yates to the Duval County Election Canvassing Board, Council President Michael Corrigan has appointed Council member Lake Ray to the board. Ray replaces Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland, who can’t serve since he’s on the spring ballot.
• “Bowl for Kids Sake 2007” presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida will be held March 17 at Bowl America on Beach Boulevard. The event will raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida. It is the mentoring organization’s biggest national fund raising effort each year.
