The stress was noticeable on the face of Mike Bouda, Sports and Entertainment Coordinator for the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission, as he made sure Friday’s 12th annual Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame induction ceremony went off without a hitch.
Despite some inclement weather outside the Championship Dreams Tent at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, the event went off without a hitch and officially kicked off the weekend’s celebrations.
Hall of Fame inductee Tim Worley expressed his gratitude and said the people and events in Jacksonville make the annual rivalry game that much better.
“There’s nothing like this,” said Worley, a Georgia running back and All-American who most notably scored a 51-yard touchdown in the 1988 game. “It would be sad to see it move to individual stadiums.”
This year’s other inductees include: Dan Magill, former Georgia sports information director who started the Georgia Bulldog Clubs; Doug Johnson, Florida quarterback from 1996-99 whose seven career 300-yard games ranks third in school history; and Galen Hall, Florida head coach from 1984-88 and led the Gators to their first SEC championship and No. 3 national ranking in 1984.
