A new queen has been crowned.

Anne Barbanel of Century 21 John T. Ferreira & Son was recognized as the top agent in gross closed commissions at the Century 21 Northeast Florida Broker Council’s annual awards event last month at the Jacksonville Marriott. She also was recognized as the Quality Service Pinnacle Producer, Centurion Producer and President’s Producer.

Wayne Altman of Century 21 Lighthouse Realty was recognized as the top agent in number of units sold and as Double Centurion Producer.

Though Gloria Worley of St. Augustine Properties usually was recognized as the top producing agent in past years, she is no longer eligible to receive producing awards now that she has become co-broker of St. Augustine Properties.

Century 21 Lighthouse Realty, Inc. won the award for top office in units and Century 21 John T. Ferreira & Son, Inc. won the award for top office in commissions.

Century 21 John T. Ferreira & Son was also awarded the Quality Service Pinnacle Office, Centurion Office and the President’s Office award.

Century 21 Lighthouse Realty, Inc. was awarded the Gold Medallion Office and the Productivity Office award.

The Fennell Team of Century 21 Atkins Realty, Inc. was awarded the Quality Service Team award.

Gary Larson, regional service director of the Century 21 Northeast Florida Broker Council, was on hand to emcee the event and comment on the market changes.

“We have good news and bad news,” said Larson. “The good news is that you are all here. Contrary to what we were looking at last year. Last year we had a lot more people and not all of them are back this year.

“But, I’m glad to see all of you. That is a good thing. Another good thing is that I’m hearing from around points around the region that activity is picking up strongly and that that activity is actually turning into contracts now. So, I hope you are experiencing the same thing here. That’s a good indication of what 2008 is going to bring us throughout the year.

“The reality is that whatever the market is, it is what it is and we have to deal with whatever that may be and make the best market we can from what is available to us.”
