• Jennifer MacPhee, the director of marketing and communications at the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, is moving on. MacPhee’s last day is Thursday, and April 30 she starts at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island as director of public relations. • The E. Earle Zehmer Appellate Practice Before the 1st District Court of Appeals seminar is set for Thursday at the Hyatt. • Though he hasn’t made his intentions known officially, rumor has it that Circuit Court Judge Aaron Bowden does not intend to run for Group 19 Circuit Judge, said Circuit Court Judge Hugh Carithers during the recent Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association luncheon. If Bowden does run, he will be running against Jeff Morrow, who has already filed to run.

• The Players Championship’s fan village is moving from the parking lot entrance to a spot next to the clubhouse this year. It will be on the pad that formerly held the catering area. • Jacksonville is home to one of the newest – if not the newest – service clubs in America. The Rotary Club of San Marco was chartered April 8 with 35 members. Club President Meg Folds said the membership is evenly balanced with 17 women and 18 men on the inaugural roster.

• Another one from Rotary: Carl Cannon, president-elect of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville, said one of the things he will do during his term is begin the planning process for the club’s 100th anniversary.

“There is nothing new in the realization that the Constitution sometimes insulates the criminality of a few in order to protect the privacy of us all.”
– Antonin Scalia, Associate Justice, U.S. Supreme Court in the March 3, 1987 majority opinion in 6-3 ruling that refused to expand police powers to search or seize evidence that they suspect may be stolen
