Three years after a Lake City, Ga, home was featured on “Extreme Makeover,” the home is in foreclosure and about to be auctioned.
A family used the renovated property as collateral to get a $450,000 loan. Now they are unable to pay the bills and the property was auctioned on the steps of the Clayton County Courthouse.
ABC-TV, which carried the popular show, said in a statement that it advises each family to consult a financial planner after they get their new home.
“Ultimately, financial matters are personal, and we work to respect the privacy of the families,” the network said.
