• The Foundation Academy will celebrate the grand opening of its new 23-acre campus at 3675 San Pablo Rd. S. Saturday. From noon-2 p.m. there will be food, live entertainment and local artists will be displaying and selling their work. Admission is free and the public is invited.

• This year’s Realtor-Builder Trade Show is set for Oct. 30, but it won’t have a Halloween theme. Instead the day-long event sponsored by the Northeast Florida Builder’s Association and the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors will have a Brazilian Carnivale theme. The cost is $10 and $20 after Oct. 20.

• Friday-Sunday at Barnes & Noble on San Jose Boulevard the Guild of the Jacksonville Symphony will hold its annual musical weekend fundraiser. Live performances are scheduled by the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra’s “Jump Start Strings” ensemble as well as symphony musicians. A percentage of the weekend’s book sales will be donated to the Guild. Last year’s event raised $3,250 in proceeds to benefit the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. • State Rep. Audrey Gibson and State Sen. Stephen Wise will present a “mock check” for $250,000 for the Williamson Creek Restoration Project. The ceremony is at 10 a.m. at the Lane Wiley Senior Center on Wiley Road.

• Rick Rosan, worldwide president of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and Senior Resident Fellow Robert Dunphy will be the featured speakers at the ULI Jacksonville Member Breakfast Series Thursday at 7:30 a.m. at the St. Joe Building on Riverside Avenue. Rosan will give an overview of ULI’s global efforts and ways to share best practice in the real estate and land use professions. Cost is $35 for ULI members. Nonmembers may join and receive two complimentary tickets for the event. Call 486-8256 for more information.
