The Florida Bar’s 2008 Midyear Meeting of Committees and Sections is Wednesday to Saturday at the Hyatt Regency in Miami.

Kathy Tucker, director of meetings and conventions for the Florida Bar, said this will be the second largest meeting ever of the Florida Bar, with The Florida Bar’s annual convention being the largest. This year’s annual convention is June 18-21 in Boca Raton.

Tucker explained that the annual meeting is more like a convention, where the election of Florida Bar officers also takes place.

“The midyear meeting is for the committee and sections to meet in one place. It is also combined with a (continuing legal education) component,” said Tucker. “It is more of a working meeting for the attorneys.”

About 1,000 attorneys are expected to attend the Florida Bar’s midyear meeting.
