Firehouse helps lifeguards

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department’s Marine Safety staff received five potentially lifesaving pieces of equipment Wednesday through a donation by Firehouse Subs. On the steps of JFRD’s headquarters on Julia Street, the local sub restaurant announced it had donated several automatic external defibrillators that will be issued to lifeguards at Hanna and Huguenot parks.
