With a logo, a staff and an initial charity selected, the Jack Del Rio Foundation got its official start Wednesday morning.

The Jacksonville Jaguars coach showed off the logo (a combination football and a heart) designed by the Dalton Agency, introduced staff member Jennifer Perkins, a former Jaguars executive, and named the Seamark Ranch, a home for children, as the first beneficiary.

”Linda and I will be very active with this foundation,” said Del Rio. “It’s a duty and an honor to be coach of the Jaguars, and it’s the same duty and honor to head a foundation.”

The Del Rios will personally pay all administrative expenses, he said, so all donations will go to charity. Other charities will join Seamark on the list of beneficiaries.

The foundation board consists of:

• Three Del Rios — Jack, Linda and daughter Lauren Cangelosi.

• Two out-of-town friends — Louisiana physician Joseph Deumite and Betsy Hackman, of Santa Fe, N.M., the wife of actor Gene Hackman.

• Four from the Jacksonville business community — Rob Schiller, former CEO of Armor Holdings; Regions Bank President Marty Lanahan; Zurich Insurance Services, Inc. Chair Tom Petway; Dalton Agency CEO Jim Dalton.

• One from the Jaguars — assistant coach Mike Tice.
