• Speaking of this weekend, the annual Dancin in the Streets party at Town Center in Atlantic and Neptune beaches is Saturday. Everything starts at 11 a.m. and there are bands scheduled to play all day and well into the evening.

• Rogers Towers attorney Bill Scheu is having great fun these days with his Cap’n Crist cereal boxes. Scheu debuted the boxes (which depict Crist looking very much like Cap’n Crunch) a couple of weeks ago at the Main Library when the Friends of the Library made a nice donation. Since then, Scheu has been asked for more than a few of the boxes — which are a knock on Crist’s budget cuts and were unsuccessfully confiscated by the mayor’s office. Scheu said Wednesday he sent one to Crist’s chief of staff and hasn’t gotten a response. There are plans to produce at least 40 more.

• The City of Jacksonville is hoping its employees will get on the wellness wagon. Aetna Insurance, the City’s health insurance provider, sponsored a two-day fair this week at the Prime Osborn Center offering everything from brochures to blood tests. The fair was paid for with part of a $150,000 grant Aetna made to the City this year for programs that could reduce the cost of healthcare through lifestyle changes, preventive medicine and early intervention.
