City Council Finance Committee Chair Stephen Joost has amended the scheduled hearings for the proposed 2009-10 budget. A majority of the morning session of the first day of the hearings, last Thursday, was taken up by discussion of Council President Richard Clark’s proposed 3 percent across-the-board cut.

That proposal was approved by the Finance Committee and each department will now have to lobby to get back all or a portion of the 3 percent.

The following is a revised budget hearing schedule. The hearings are in Council Chambers and open to the public, although public comments aren’t on the agendas.
