Field of practice: Law management, and six years as a college lecturer, partner at Harris, Guidi, Rosner & Mordecai, P.A., specialized in government and environmental issues.

Professional organizations and community involvement: Served as president of Take Stock in Children (TSIC) (2003-09), mentor for Take Stock in Children to students. President and CEO of the Super Bowl Host Committee, a private, not-for-profit organization responsible for developing, organizing and implementing Jacksonville’s plan for Super Bowl XXXIX. Led the team responsible for developing the City’s successful bid application for the 2005 game.

How did you get involved?

I was recruited to become statewide president of Take Stock In Children.

How can someone else get involved?

There are Take Stock In Children Student and Mentor Programs in all 67 counties. To get involved, call or e-mail the Take Stock in Children program in your county. The Duval County TSIC is part of the Communities in Schools program. The Clay County TSIC is part of the YMCA. The St. Johns County TSIC is part of the St. Johns Education Foundation. The Nassau County TSIC is part of the Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). 

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?

Mentoring works. Every child needs a caring adult in his/her life.

What was the last book you read or are reading?

“The Journey,” how to live by faith in an uncertain world by Billy Graham.
