The 23rd Annual Celebrity Chefs Tasting Luncheon and Silent Auction returns March 5 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. with tasty dishes for a charitable cause.
This year’s event will have a couple noticeable changes — a venue change from the Jacksonville Fairgrounds to the Osborn Center and a drop in ticket prices from $30 to $25 — that presenting officials of the Salvation Army’s Women Auxiliary Club hope will bring a turnout as strong as in years past.
This year’s slate of celebrity chefs include: Ch. 4 reporter Jennifer Bauer; Ch. 12/25 anchors Victor Blackwell and Jeannie Blaylock; State Attorney Angela Corey; Women’s Auxiliary members Sally Evans, Rita Joost and Darleen Unger; PRI Productions President/CEO Randy Goodwin; TPC Sawgrass General Manager Bill Hughes; Ch. 47 anchors Dawn Lopez and Mark Spain; Loop Restaurants and Bistro Aix owner Mike Schneider; Prudential Network Realty President/CEO Linda Sherrer; Wolfson Children’s Hospital board of directors Director Karen Wolfson; and Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Daryl Smith.
Proceeds from the event go toward funding various Salvation Army programs, with this year’s proceeds going toward causes such as scholarships, homework assistance services and furnishings for the Child Development Center; necessary furnishings for the Towers Memorial Services Center; ongoing programs at the Adult Rehabilitation Center; and supplies for the Senior Center.
Tickets include admission, recipe book, and silent auction bids. For more tickets and additional information, call 301-4841.
