• In yesterday’s Workspace, Northeast Florida Red Cross CEO Jack Morgan remarked how the organization had to get creative in generating new revenue. Well, the nonprofit has teamed up with BNS Construction and is holding a drawing for a new home. The drawing will be held June 23, with tickets costing $100 each and a goal of 5,000 tickets to be sold. • Volunteers are needed at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens to dedicate one morning each week to give school tours. From monthly training lectures to the finished tour, docents use a combination of historical information and humor to bring works of art to life. • Just a large follow up: High Tide Burrito Co. had its grand opening last week with the promotion of a free burrito for customers who stopped in Friday from noon-6 p.m. Just how successful was the promotion? The restaurant gave away more than 400 burritos, according to an employee.
• Downtown Rotary Update: The Rotary Club of Jacksonville’s program for Monday’s meeting is “The Impact of the Economic Downturn on Jacksonville’s Business Community.” A panel discussion featuring club members Steve Bacalis, Jay Fant and Robert Hays will be moderated by Cathy Hagan from the University of North Florida Small Business Development Center.
