The Dalton Agency moved its offices Downtown almost two years ago, but that’s just the most recent chapter in the story. Saturday marked the 20th anniversary of the business and the milestone will be marked by a new look for the streetscape in front of its headquarters.
To commemorate the beginning of the business’s third decade the agency’s creative staff designed a series of posters. Beginning today, they will be on display in the agency’s street-level windows at 140 W. Monroe St.
“People on the sidewalk are always peeking in our windows to see what’s going on in here,” commented agency founder Jim Dalton. “Plus we won this year’s award for Best Downtown Storefront from 904 Magazine, so we thought an exhibit like this would be perfect.”
Different art including graphics created for some of Dalton’s clients will also be part of the streetscape for the next year, he added.
Executive Vice President Michael Munz reflected on the agency’s growth in the past 20 years and said, “It’s amazing to go from a small office on Dante Place to a three-story building Downtown and offices in Orlando, Savannah and Tampa with clients all over the world.”
The agency’s entire staff also participated in their annual retreat over the weekend. The theme was to explore what the business would be doing in the next 20 years and explore how to keep up with the ever-changing media and markets.
“We think it’s important for the team to gather once a year and talk about ways to improve what we do and who we are,” said Dalton.
He also said while there isn’t going to be a street party that takes over Hemming Plaza like the one the agency hosted to celebrate its move Downtown, “It’s quite an accomplishment to mark this anniversary in this economic climate. It’s been a great 20 years and we’re looking forward to the next 20.”
