Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp (center) was in town Friday as the guest of the Tiger Bay Club. Before the meeting, he talked with Helen Ludwig and Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland. Kottkamp, who is running for Attorney General, said there are a lot of important things going on in Jacksonville that he’s tied to in some form or another. He oversees the state’s space program and says it’s important to use the assets at Cecil Field as a potential spaceport. He’s also in charge of the state’s Office of Drug Control and likes what he sees in Sheriff John Rutherford’s re-entry program. “The port is also important for the overall economic development of the area,” he said.
