The results of all that construction that’s been going on behind the green screen under the marquee at the Florida Theatre will be revealed Monday evening. At 6: 30 p.m. just before Smokey Robinson goes on stage at the venue, the newly-restored marble around the original box office will be unveiled along with a new sidewalk. A number of stars have been installed in the walkway in front of the theater that recognize some of the historic entertainment facility’s supporters. Funds raised through the effort will support the ongoing maintenance and restoration of the Florida Theatre which has hosted more than 4,500 events from vaudeville and silent films to classical performances and even one of Elvis Presley’s first indoor shows.
