City Council member Glorious Johnson made the short trip from City Hall to the Supervisor of Elections Office Thursday to make official her decision to seek election as mayor of Jacksonville in 2011. Joined by her campaign treasurer, Susan Poole, Johnson opened her campaign account witnessed by Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland. After the paperwork was complete, Johnson, a Democrat, was greeted by several dozen supporters and said, “I want to be defined by what I stand for, not what I stand against. I will demonstrate and maintain my leadership by having a clear vision and goals for Jacksonville shaped by seeking and listening to your input and by running an open, transparent and ethical government of and by the people.”
