• The American Bar Association has a new executive director. Jack Rives is a former Judge Advocate General for the U. S. Air Force. He’ll officially take over Saturday.

• Wednesday is the first businessperson’s special of the year for the Jacksonville Suns. The first pitch is at 1:05 p.m.

• Former Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Detective Michael Knox has started his own forensic consulting firm. Knox spent 15 years with JSO and testified as an expert witness in the trials of Rasheem, Tajuane and Terrell Dubose, the brothers convicted of killing 8-year-old Dreshawna Davis.

• Jacksonville mixed martial arts fighter Charles Blanchard is off Spike’s “The Ultimate Fighter.” Blanchard lost his fight in the first round Wednesday and the show’s rules dictate those who lose must leave.

• Here’s a moooving fundraiser for daniel Kids. On May 22, Dani the cow will walk on a field of 625 randomly numbered squares at the Landing courtyard at the Cow Drop Hop. Whichever square she “lands” on will win. Squares will cost $20 each and the winner receives 10 percent of the ticket sales.
