We would like to say a special thank you to our broker/manager, Rebecca Stoneback. Her dedication to us, her agents, and ultimately to our clients, is unsurpassed. Always the professional, Rebecca is also compassionate and caring, whether coaching us or assisting us in finding a solution to one of the many problems that can arise in today’s market. The definition of wisdom is “the correct application of knowledge” and though many in the real estate profession have a great deal of knowledge, Rebecca possesses wisdom that is well beyond her years. We are lucky to have her guiding us, and we’re proud to be a part of her team!

I would like to recognize someone who is not only physically beautiful, but truly beautiful inside. Deborah Metzig is such a great friend to the real estate industry. She has done so much to promote builders, developers, real estate and industry professionals. Deborah is so faithful to attend events and help get them into Realty/Builder Connection. She has done so much over the years for NEFBA and SMC. I am so happy to call her my friend and take this opportunity to say thank you!

I appreciate Lisa Poutre at attorney Duane Romanella’s office. She stayed past 9 p.m. on a weeknight/school night so that a short sale would close on the correct date. There were last minute issues on the buyer side that were not resolved until 6:30 p.m. and she very graciously stayed late to put the closing package together and have all the signatures in and on time.

I would like to talk about my Broker Teresa Mercurio of Re/Max 100 here in St. Augustine. Very few Brokers give their heart to their agents along with their community. Teresa has been recognized so many times for her outstanding accomplishments and charitable attributes. With all this, she still finds the time for every one of her agents, whether it is a deal going south or a personal tragedy that needs attention, Teresa never questions she just does. I wish I had a list of all her accomplishments that are documented, so many are not. She is someone that needs to be recognized in every way.

I would like to say thank you to Mona Gardella, my friend and colleague at Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty. She is such great friend and Realtor, she always has my back and is a great ear and support. People like her do not come around in your life very often.

I appreciate the “unsung hero.” This person shows up for work in the morning and leaves late in the day. Their role supports my role without ever asking for praise or recognition. Their role supports the vendors I use in my business. I may never see them, but I want them to know that my day is much better because they showed up.

I would like to thank Mark Carlson and Andy Chambers for their leadership of SMC and NEFBA during a very difficult year. They both helped me by giving such positive energy and keeping the organizations moving in the right direction. There are so many members of both organizations that lifted me up during 2010 it would be impossible to thank them all.

I would like to thank Linda Rogers of Watson Mortgage in the Ponte Vedra office. She helped me with two sales this year that were completely different. One was a young couple, first time homebuyers, that qualified for the first time buyers’ home credit. At a time when buying is an intimidating thing, she gave the buyers confidence and guidance through to closing to receive the credit toward their purchase. It was one of the most rewarding sales I have had in my 20 years in real estate.
The second sale was with experienced buyers that had not purchased a home in the last 10 years. Even with knowledgeable buyers, this was a trying time for them. The amount of documentation required by lenders today is very overwhelming on buyers. Even with good credit and experience in past purchases, they were shocked as what they needed to do to get their loan approved.
This has proved to me that a knowledgeable lender is worth their weight in mortgages. She was patient and a calming presence in a very unsettled financial time. Communication was the key in keeping the process running smoothly through the closing.
