Family: My partner of 16 years and a staff that is as close as family.

Pets: The world’s three best looking miniature poodles — Kelsey, Mimi & Snowball.

Admitted to the Bar: 1989

Employed by: self — Your Jacksonville Lawyer, P.A.

Field of practice: Bankruptcies, criminal defense, family law — dissolutions, child support, adoptions, estate planning, probate, foreclosure defense, personal injury — including nursing home abuse/neglect, and a really reduced — go figure — real estate practice.

Community involvement: Northeast Florida Aids Network, JBA “Ask-A-Lawyer” program.

How did you get involved?

It’s been more than five years since I was invited to apply and join the NFAN board.

How can someone else get involved?

Call me (main phone number is 384-4911) or e-mail me ([email protected]) and I will refer you on. NFAN is currently looking for attorneys with employment law experience.

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?

Learned: One, discrimination is still very real. Two, I have the most amazing and dedicated staff in the world. Achieved: After five years of litigation — including allegations of 100 violations of the Florida False Claims Act with penalties in excess of $1 million — finalizing the entire case with NFAN owing absolutely nothing!

What was the last book you read or are reading?

“The Joy of Self Employment” by Todd Mayo.
