How did you get involved?

I have always had a penchant for service to my community. My early career was in public service. Once I began my legal career at Rogers Towers, which really encourages community involvement, I was encouraged by Bill Scheu, Ed Kelly and others to get involved with local nonprofit agencies that interest me and promote my values. In fact, it was Marc Mayo who invited me to the Board of OneJax in 2004, which was known at the time as NCCJ. The rest is history.

How can someone else get involved?

Call me.

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?

I have learned that humans are more alike than they are different. I have also learned to respect, understand and appreciate the religious beliefs of others. Even further, I now make an effort to understand and appreciate others’ beliefs.

What was the last book you read or are reading?

“The Tripping Point in Leadership” by David Byrd
