How did you get involved?
Being an Assistant Public Defender for five years and I wanted to continue helping the indigent and less fortunate members of our community who often encounter the same daily legal issues as you and I, but lack the same access to the legal system. Being a Jacksonville native, I also wanted to stay active in my local Jewish community, and the Jacksonville Jewish Federation provides valuable services all over city, from local synagogues, to Jewish Family Services, to the River Garden Hebrew Home.
How can someone else get involved?
Every time I go to a monthly Jax Bar lunch I learn about new opportunities to volunteer in the community. You just have to ask.
What have you learned/achieved through the experience?
I could actually volunteer much more than I do. I tend to socialize too much as it is!
What was the last book you read or are reading?
Does “Men’s Journal” count? The new Dan Brown book has been sitting on my coffee table for months, but I have too much good stuff on my DVR.
