Members of the Hispanic Bar Association of Northeast Florida gathered in San Marco Thursday to say goodbye to their president, who is relocating to Tallahassee.

Vanessa De Rosa Lipsky, president of the Hispanic Bar and attorney for Eraclides Johns, has seen some substantial changes in her life lately. About a year ago she was elected president of the Hispanic Bar and, more recently, she married Chad Lipsky. While the party marked an end to one of those changes, it also celebrated the start of another.

“Jacksonville’s loss will be Tallahassee’s gain,” said Paola Parra Harris, president-elect of the Hispanic Bar Association. “She was very involved in the community in Jacksonville, and I don’t see that changing when she moves to Tallahassee.”

Chad Lipsky will attend law school at Florida State University.

“It’s going to be great,” said Vanessa. “Chad and my younger brother will be attending Florida State University at the same time.”

The Hispanic Bar Association of Northeast Florida was founded in September 2004 to foster fellowship among Hispanic judges, lawyers and law students and those interested in or doing business with Latin America or Hispanic businesses in the region.
