The Omni Downtown set up a bar and tables of hors d’oeuvres Wednesday afternoon and invited administrative assistants who have booked functions at the hotel.
Omni Catering Sales manager Sarah Seibers said it was the hotel’s way of saying thanks to the people who make the arrangements but often aren’t able to participate in the event.
She also said the gathering was one of the last events that will be held on the second floor before remodeling begins at the end of May.
It’s scheduled to take about a month and Seibers said the catering staff is already planning a grand reopening gala for early July.
