After a two-year hiatus, the photocopiers are once again humming at Security First Legal Copy & Process Service at 17 N. Ocean St. near East Bay Street.

Company President Ken Watson said he decided to resurrect the business at the request of several law firms.

“We’re re-establishing the business, rekindling old relationships and attracting new business,” he said.

The company offers a full range of copying and other document services as well as process service for the legal community.

Watson has a collection of photocopiers, scanners and other equipment to accommodate the needs of law firms, whether they’re near the cutting edge of technology or desire to use the more traditional methods of document duplication and management.

“While some companies have attempted to market ultra-advanced technology for handling documents, we’ve found that most clients are looking for the more time-tested ways to handle documents. We think there will always be a place for traditional document management,” he said.

“Over the past 10 years, some have said this business would go completely paperless soon, but that hasn’t happened. Our experience is the market hasn’t embraced going exclusively digital, but we can provide hard copies or the digital versions,” said Watson.

All of the work is done in-house to maintain the security of client’s property, Watson said. Having a small staff also helps him keep the cost to the client as reasonable as possible, he said.

“We don’t have salespeople, so there’s no commission.”

Security First is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and after hours by appointment. Call 356-1355 for more information.
