The NEFAR Leadership Academy is back for another year with Audrey Lackie of Watson Realty stepping in as chair. She took the job after Stephanie White of Magnolia Properties, who was originally the chair, resigned to take a job in Fort Walton Beach.

The academy schedule starts with the association’s installation luncheon on January 20 and, through the course of the year, students will go through a mix of meetings and educational sessions.

February’s duty is the annual Florida Realtors day in Tallahassee on Feb. 14-15 where Realtors from throughout the state gather to lobby legislators.

Here’s the rest of the year:

March 1: A meeting at the St. Johns County office to learn about the academy, team building and how the RPAC Auction works.

May 22: Study of the association’s leadership structure including attending that day’s board meeting at the NEFAR office.

June 8: Work in the RPAC Auction at Jacksonville’s Ramallah Club.

June 14: Study the NEFAR structure at the NEFAR office.

July 26: Study the Florida Realtors and National Association of Realtors benefits, and review parliamentary procedures. This is also at the NEFAR office.

Aug. 8-12: Attend at least one day of the Florida Realtors Convention and Trade Show in Orlando.

Sept. 13: Communications and spokesperson training at the NEFAR office.

Oct. 18: Attend the Realtor Builder Tradeshow at the UNF University Center.

Nov. 1: Team projects and budgeting at the NEFAR office.

Jan. 18, 2013: “Graduation” at the annual NEFAR Installation Luncheon at the Jacksonville Marriott.
