Charles R. “Charlie” Clark of Ponte Vedra Beach has been selected as a 2012 inductee into the Florida Housing Hall of Fame. The announcement was made at last month’s Florida Home Builders Association board meeting in Orlando.

Also to be inducted is Richard M. Horton of Miami. The ceremony will be in November at the annual FHBA meeting.

Clark has been a sales and marketing consultant and is a frequent speaker at major functions in Northeast Florida. He started his career as a home salesman in Orlando in the 1960’s and rose to a partner in the company, and moved to Northeast Florida in the 1980’s to become a consultant.

“Through his professionalism and personal charisma, Charlie pushed sales and marketing professionals to become forces at the local, state, and national levels of our home builders association federation,” said Paul Thompson, the executive vice president of the Florida Home Builders Association. “Today, many successful builders associations owe at least some measure of that success to their Sales and Marketing Council and to Charlie Clark.”

Horton is a past president of the Builders Association of South Florida and was the 2010 Florida Builder of the Year. His company, The Green Companies, was founded by FHBA Past President Hank Green and has been an NAHB member for 50 years.
