The Women’s Council of Realtors is making a major change with its annual fashion show: it’s now a weekend dinner.

In recent years, the traditional show has been during a weekday lunch at the Sawgrass Marriott, and this year it’s moving to the Jacksonville Marriott in the Southpoint area. It’s on Saturday, September 22.

Missi Howell of Watson Realty is the chair and said she expects a sellout of 300.

“There’s a lot of enthusiam for the change to Saturday evening,” she said. “In addition to it being convenient to bringing spouses, it’s also a chance for the office administrative staff to attend.”

Attendance in the last few years has been in the 200-225 range, Howell said.

The evening starts with a trade show at 5 and a silent auction opens at 6:30. The dinner and fashion show is at 7 with dancing to follow. Stein Mart is providing the fashions.

“It isn’t the first time this has been at night, but it’s the first time it will be treated like a big deal,” said Howell. “We wanted a ‘gala’ atmosphere.”

PNC Mortgage is the main sponsor.

The cost is $50 per person and reservations should be made through the WCR treasurer, Christine Baranofsky, at her email address, [email protected].
