Community involvement: Long-term board member of Family Foundations (which has been a part of the Jacksonville nonprofit landscape for more than 50 years). We are committed to growing strong, money-wise families and work hard to ensure that every family in Northeast Florida has the solutions to become strong and financially stable and every child is raised in a money-wise family. We provide many different services to achieve that goal and right now are especially focused on helping families become successful homeowners while simultaneously providing the foreclosure intervention services for our community. We most recently completed a pilot program, “1,000 in 1,000,” to move 1,000 persons out of poverty in 1,000 days. Through our work we have identified significant community opportunities and barriers to achieving that goal. The case study is currently being validated by a third-party and will be released to the public later this year. Additionally, we just launched Money Wi$e Week, a citywide campaign to elevate the importance of every family, individual household and business becoming money-wise.
