Anne Urban, a 30-year veteran of the events business, will launch her third business this week — TRIO — and says it’s the right time.
“If we wait a year, it could be too late,” she said.
Urban watches the economy through the eyes of a veteran business owner. She is president of Destination Planning Corp., which creates events for people coming to Florida.
Urban also created Centerstage Entertainment & Events, which will run TRIO. She and business partner Carla Bahri own TRIO.
TRIO occupies a former restaurant and lounge in Tinseltown at 9726 Touchton Road. Urban and Bahri want to buy the building from Bahri’s family. The 15,000-square-foot building has 12,000 square feet of usable event space.
The venue can be used for banquets, parties, weddings, meetings and other events, offers a full kitchen for caterers and has a stage, sound system, DJ booth, buffet and drink bars, a patio and other space, in addition to free surface parking.
It can handle up to 1,500 people for reception-style events and can provide banquet seating up to 450 in the largest room and up to 300 in the other.
As an event planner, Urban has a warehouse of decorations and equipment, and TRIO can provide tables, chairs and stage equipment. TRIO can provide the rest of the décor if needed.
Unban said this is business development.
“It’s good because someone is willing to take a risk,” she said.
“I’ve definitely seen enough growth that I’m not afraid.”
