Jacksonville University Board of Trustees Chairman Ron Autrey with new JU President Tim Cost, who takes office July 1, succeeding retiring President Kerry Romesburg. Cost met with JU faculty, staff and students, supporters and other members of the community Thursday at the Terry Concert Hall on the JU campus at 2800 University Blvd. N. Cost talked about a focus on alumni engagement; a larger investment in technology; attracting investment to support a larger enrollment; and continuing to recruit students in Florida and Georgia while also inviting students from the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. “We are a compelling option,” he said of the 78-year-old, 3,700-student liberal arts university on a riverfront campus of 198 acres. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two grown children and will be relocating. Cost is a consultant with PepsiCo in Purchase, N.Y., and a 1981 JU graduate.
