Stache Investments Corp. will announce Wednesday the One Spark creators it has invested in, coinciding with the launch of a 16-week accelerator and apprenticeship program Downtown.
Stache Investments is led by Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan and was created to support local business through financial assistance.
Khan and Stache Investments partnered with One Spark, a five-day crowdfunding festival in April, by offering up to $1 million for the event's creators for possible equity investment opportunities.
As the Daily Record reported, Khan invested $280,000 with Bob and Jennifer Sanders for a mortgage for Heritage Farms Jacksonville, the couple's urban-farming and fresh produce business in Mandarin.
Through Stache Investments, Khan also has invested in the expansion of L&J Diesel Service Inc. for its Dieselogic brand, which specializes in fuel injection innovation and manufacturing for the diesel industry.
And, he financed a $3 million deal for Southeast Group to purchase the Laura Street Trio and Barnett Bank Buildings for revitalization Downtown.
The accelerator, KYN, is a "relationship focused accelerator and apprenticeship program" at 315 E. Bay St. It will launch and feature the One Spark winners chosen by Stache Investments.
A news conference with more details on the accelerator program is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday.
