Davis Development plans to develop an apartment project on 14.4 acres it bought last week at Atlantic and Kernan boulevards.

Debora Martin, a paralegal at Davis Development in Stockbridge, Ga., said Thursday she did not have details and would ask other Davis executives to provide more information.

DD Jax-Kernan Partners LLC, a Davis company, paid $3.48 million for the property, which was sold by Atlantic North LLC. Developers Toney and Eli Sleiman are managers of Atlantic North.

The sale was recorded Thursday with the Duval County Clerk of Court and the deed was signed Aug. 20. State corporate records for DD Jax-Kernan Partners, filed Aug. 14, state its business is to "own, develop and manage a multifamily apartment community."

Meanwhile, City records show a 290-unit apartment project is planned on a 14.8-acre site at northwest Atlantic and Kernan boulevards. A Sleiman executive had declined comment several weeks ago, indicating there might be information available soon.

The property owner was shown as Atlantic North LLC and the engineer is DB Civil Works.

Plans in review call that project the Residences at Atlantic North in the Villages of Kernan. The site is near the center where LA Fitness and Academy Sports + Outdoors operate.

Plans show the apartment site along Kernan Boulevard north of the Abess Road extension.

Plans indicate nine buildings, comprising eight apartment buildings and a clubhouse and pool, on the 14.8-acre site. Plans show 117 one-bedroom units, 132 two-bedroom units and 41 three-bedroom units.
