Lacivita, Rankin join ruckus

Kathy Garrett Lacivita and Amy Rankin have joined the staff at ruckus.advertising + public relations. Lacivita will serve as the director of client services and recently was director of communications for a firm that specializes in government contracting. Chadwell joins Visit Jacksonville

Visit Jacksonville has hired Toni Chadwell as an event specialist. She is responsible for planning and executing major annual events and assist in the organization's partnership development department. She also will provide oversight and management for the North Florida Hotel & Lodging Association. Most recently, Chadwell served as director of rental operations for the Florida Theatre.

Tritt to be part of ABA forum

Jacksonville attorney Arnold Tritt Jr. is one of six attorneys selected by the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry to present at its regional "Fundamentals of Construction Law" program Friday in Tampa. Watering restrictions now in effect

The clocks being rolled back one hour this past Sunday also started new regulations for lawn and landscape irrigation. The rule in place now is no more than one day per week. Residential properties with an address that ends in an odd number or without an address can water on Saturdays. Those with an even number can water on Sunday. Non-residential addresses are permitted to irrigate on Tuesdays. Watering is allowed only before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m. year-round. Two designated days per week will resume March 9. Gettinger joins Early Learning Coalition board

The Early Learning Coalition of Duval has named Sunny Gettinger to its board of directors. Gettinger, a senior communications manager at Google Inc., will join as a business sector member. "Sunny's extensive knowledge in the business community and with public policy will be a wonderful addition to our board," said Susan Main, coalition president and CEO. The organization leads and supports the early-learning community, with efforts that include the VPK program, School Readiness Child Care Financial Assistance and the Child Care Resource and Referral network, among others. First Wednesday Art Walk celebrates 10 years tonight

First Wednesday Art Walk is 5-9 p.m. today, with participants and organizers celebrating a milestone. The theme of the event is "Cheers to 10 Years" and will look back on a decade of the monthly event. City begins salute to military

The city's Week of Valor, which runs through Nov. 17, has several events planned to honor Jacksonville's military. The schedule, announced Tuesday, kicks off today with the annual JAX Chamber Military Appreciation Luncheon at the Hyatt Regency, which will bring together business leaders and military personnel. On Friday, it's the city's turn to host when it has an appreciation luncheon for military city employees in Hemming Plaza. On Sunday, W.W. Gay will host the Salute to Veterans 5K starting at 8 a.m. Downtown. Monday will feature Mayor Alvin Brown's Veterans Recognition Breakfast, followed by the annual Veterans Day Parade winding through Downtown streets. On Nov. 14, events continue with LISC Jacksonville joining Home Depot for the Veterans Housing Convention at the Wells Fargo office in Springfield. Brown (at podium) also will join the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 15 for an announcement about the team's commitment of services to the city's Military Affairs, Veterans and Disabled Services Department. Then, on Sunday, the Jaguars take on the Arizona Cardinals in its annual Military Appreciation Day game. For more information on all the events, visit coj.net.

Weavers donate $1 million to new YMCA

The Weaver Family Foundation Fund, through the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, has given $1 million to the YMCA of Florida's First Coast to support the new Riverside facility. "From outreach programs focused on education and literacy to chronic diseases prevention, we believe this new Y will be a valuable community resource for Northeast Florida," Delores Barr Weaver said in a news release. The Weaver Family will be honored through the naming of an outdoor park that will be built on-site, which will connect the 65,000-square-foot facility to the Northbank Riverwalk. The new facility is the Winston Family YMCA and is expected to break ground in December. For more information, visit firstcoastymca.org.

HabiJax names new chairman, board members

Habitat for Humanity Jacksonville named Greg Matovina as chairman of the board of directors and named four new members. Matovina has been on the board for 11 years and is the founder of Matovina & Co. The four new board members are: Travis Pinckney, Andrew Jackson High School professional counselor; Robert Dilts, JPMorgan Chase senior vice president and senior banker; Autumn Berrang, Burdette Ketchum vice president of client services; and Brandon McCray, University of North Florida assistant vice president for development and planned giving.

Coble named lead region president by Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo & Co. named Scott Coble the lead region president for Regional Banking's Florida Region.

Coble, a 27-year veteran with Wells Fargo, will report to Eastern Regional Banking Executive Laura Schulte and will be based in Miami.

He succeeds Shelley Freeman, who led Florida Regional Banking since the merger of Wachovia and Wells Fargo. Freeman has accepted a newly created leadership role with Wells Fargo.

Coble started his career as a consumer banking associate in Charlotte, and has spent the majority of his tenure in leadership positions throughout the Southeast. He most recently served as the North Florida regional president, where he managed 1,340 team members and 130 stores.

Local hockey fan favorites to take part in tournament

The NHL Legends Jacksonville Tournament on Nov. 15 will have a few names local hockey fans might remember. Greg Capson, Pat Doherty and Brian Gruning will join other players from the Bullets, Lizard Kings and Barracudas, all former Jacksonville hockey teams. The locals will face off against former NHL players at 8 p.m. Nov. 15 at Veterans Memorial Arena. The event is to promote ice hockey in the local community and support local military personnel.
