St. Augustine builder Jerry Linder is one year away from being president of the Florida Home Builders Association.

Linder moved up to first vice president last month at the FHBA's Fall Leadership Conference in Tampa. He'll serve under 2013-14 President Ron Leiberman of Lecanto and then take over next October.

Others on the new leadership team are building supplier Cindy Hall of Jensen Beach, second vice president; Ray Puzzitiello of West Palm Beach, secretary; Paul Iandoli of Orlando, third vice president; Suzanne Graham of Port Charlotte, immediate past president; and Patty Wedge-Ludwig of Bonita Springs past second vice president.

In other news from the meeting, Doug Wenzel of the Bonded Builders Warranty Group received the community service award. Wenzel lives in Flagler Beach and services builders in Northeast Florida. … Jim Painter of Gainesville and Bill Smock of Sarasota were selected Builder and Associate of the Year, respectively. … Clay County builder Michael Bourré, a past president of the Northeast Florida Builders Association, received an Eagle Award from outgoing President Suzanne Graham. There were five awards presented to members who were recognized for contributions to the association. Bourre, who was recently appointed to the Clay County Planning Commission, also was named again as the Northeast Florida's area vice president.
