Jacksonville International Airport is back open Wednesday morning, 12 hours after what police described as a "destructive device" was found.

Dozens of flights were canceled due to Tuesday night's evacuation of all passengers, airline and airport staff and venders. The airport remained closed for more than five hours.

Investigators with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said there were reports of two suspicious packages at the airport about 6 p.m. They said one of the packages was found in a near the security checkpoint and one was found in a parking garage. Police searched the airport for any additional suspicious packages.
