An early start for Halloween is scheduled Thursday morning when Downtown businesses will be handing out candy and other treats.

From 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., trick or treating in the neighborhood will be in full swing at The Brick Coffee House, Chamblin’s Uptown, CoWork Jax, Dalton Agency, Diversions Relaxation & Gifts, Downtown Vision Inc., Grease Rags Clothing Co., Indochine, Like That Cut Barber Shop, Pho A Noodle Bar, The UPS Store, Visit Jacksonville, Xtreme Kettle Corn and Treat Factory and other locations.

Downtown Vision distributed candy last year and the event has grown as a way to discover new businesses and meet neighbors.

Costumes are encouraged, according to Katherine Hardwick, DVI director of marketing.
