The Southbank Riverwalk will soon have a new look. Plans were announced Thursday of the demolition of the existing wood boardwalk and former Jacksonville Maritime Museum and Jacksonville History Center buildings. The new riverwalk will include 53,000 square feet of colored brick pavers atop pre-cast concrete, 5,600 feet of steel guardrails, new light poles, in-ground lighting, benches, pet stations, bike racks and floating docks. The completion date is scheduled for September 2014.
