Getting clothing laundered or dry cleaned is a little easier for people who work at Riverplace Tower on the Southbank.

DeLuxe Laundry & Dry Cleaners opened a new concept Friday on the concourse level of the building.

Carter Funk, managing member of CKF Laundry Services, negotiated use of a utility closet near the elevator bank that has been transformed into a “satellite store.”

After registering for the service, customers receive the code for the keypad on the door and may drop off their bagged cleaning and laundry in a secure box inside the store.

The bags are picked up Tuesday and Friday and the finished garments are returned to the store for pickup the following Tuesday or Friday.

DeLuxe Business Development Manager Mike Halprin said payments may be made with a credit or debit card, or the customer can be sent a monthly statement.

“Having to drop off and pick up your cleaning on the way home is one less thing you have to worry about. It’s all about convenience,” he said.

Depending on the market’s response to the concept, Funk said, he might contact other Downtown property managers about establishing the service in more buildings.
