The newest NEFBA council, the E-Council, is pleased to announce it will be expanding its engagement with the local building community in 2015.

The E-Council is looking to be of more service to the building community by assembling a group of knowledgeable and experienced professionals to assist with building science and efficiency-related inquiries throughout the year.

This so-called “Dream Team” is hoping to engage a limited number of requests throughout the year by offering their knowledge and expertise in a wide range of building science and efficiency topics.

For the last two years the E-Council has presented informative sessions at the monthly luncheons. (The monthly luncheons occur on the second Wednesday after the E-Council board meeting for those of you who missed out on the great presentations.)

The E-Council has been pleased to present industry-leading professionals including: Joe Lstiburek, John Tooley and Steve Easley.

Past topics have included:

• In-depth sessions on mini-split (ductless and ducted) heat pumps

• All about construction sealants, photovoltaic systems

• Benefits of heat-pump water heaters

• Home automation offerings

• Advanced building science topics and inquiries

• Building energy efficient homes

• Spray foam insulation applications

• Energy code training

• Business models for energy efficient retrofits

• Advanced framing techniques

In addition to the technical trainings the E-Council has presented, social events have included demonstrations of technologies and products, energy-efficient home tours, and gatherings for food and drink.

The E-Council plans to continue the tradition of providing top-notch learning and networking opportunities throughout 2015.

With the addition of offering assistance to those who are looking to learn more about building science and efficiency for their personal or business lives or projects, 2015 is shaping up to be the best year yet.
