By all accounts, 2015 has been a good year for the building industry and NEFBA, in particular.

We’ve been hearing good reports and we’re beginning to see gains in building activity as evidenced in the number of permits issued in our four-county area.

Enthusiasm, optimism and smiles are the order of the day.

That was also apparent last month at the Southeast Building Conference in Orlando. NEFBA members and staff who attended were encouraged by what we saw and heard there.

Bigger and better than ever, this 37-year-old event is the largest building industry trade show in the Southeast. We attended educational programs, took advantage of networking opportunities, participated in table discussions and were brought up to date with industry briefings.

The overriding mood at SEBC was one of extreme optimism from around the state. The crowds at the conference are an indication the industry is strong.

There were many stories of overcoming hardships to survive and there were lessons to be learned. It was good to hear about growth in the region, how business is coming back strong and how new-home construction is picking up its pace.

It was an honor for me to be there with our NEFBA contingent. We can be proud of our association and its reputation among others in Florida, the southeast region and the nation.

As of June 30, NEFBA is the fifth largest local builders association in the country.

Be sure to read the full report of the conference in this issue of Builder News beginning on Page 29.

In a field of great associations, NEFBA stands out as a leader.

Thank you for all you’ve done this year to make NEFBA the outstanding trade association it is today.

Sincerely,

Rick Morales
