• Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville received a $15,000 donation from Owens Corning to renovate a home for a family in the New Town neighborhood.
Also, volunteers from the local Owens Corning plant contributed community service hours, including a work day at the home.
Partnerships like the one with Owens Corning have made it possible for HabiJax to provide homeownership to more than 2,000 families since 1988.
• Lennar Jacksonville in December hosted a Christmas party for Daniel Kids, with stockings, gifts, Christmas music, hot chocolate and food catered by Bill Wilson of Builders Care.
Daniel serves nearly 2,000 children and their families through an array of mental health, social services and educational programs aimed at enhancing the lives of children and families in Jacksonville.
• Nocatee has posted a Quick-Move-In board on Pinterest. The tool shows Realtors all Nocatee homes available for move-in within the next 60 days, useful for prospects who need to move immediately.
• Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty hosted a retreat for its managers and partners at White Oak Plantation. With a theme of “Have High Expectations,” the two-day event included leadership meetings, team building experiences and a guided tour of the conservation center.
BHHS’s Fleming Island office also in December supported the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign. More than 20 team members served as volunteer bell-ringers. It’s the fourth year the Fleming Island office has done so.
The Fleming Island office sponsored a Christmas party for students at Reaching Milestones, a local school for children with special needs, and served as one of Santa’s angels, “adopting” a Clay County family with three children.
• Toll Brothers hosted a holiday celebration in December for residents at Coastal Oaks at Nocatee in Ponte Vedra. The Residents’ Clubhouse event included refreshments, games for children, a holiday tree, an ornament-making contest and a special appearance by Santa Claus. Residents also took part in a friendly holiday lighting contest.
• The Urban Land Institute North Florida will kick off the inaugural class of the Women’s Leadership Development Institute Feb. 12.
Participants will meet regularly over five months to network with colleagues from different real estate disciplines in a collaborative learning environment.
Programming will include interactions with local business leaders, public officials and national experts, and discussions on topics such as leadership, management, team building, practical leadership and time management, effective communications and work/life balance.
