Even before he could walk, Clayton Brogdon loved the tools of the trade. It’s not unusual for little boys to like hammers, but not all of them grow up to be builders.

“My father was my first teacher,” Brogdon said. “Under his guidance I grew up working as a general laborer in South Georgia. And that’s where I began to learn the trade and developed a strong work ethic.”

Brogdon attended Valdosta State University where he obtained a degree in accounting.

Always with a goal toward becoming a builder and owning his own business, Brogdon moved to Jacksonville to work and learn about the Northeast Florida market.

With a unique combination of small-town integrity and big-city vision, Brogdon opened Brogdon Builders and joined NEFBA.

“I was introduced to NEFBA when my business partner, James Lamoureux, and I visited a monthly board meeting,” Brogdon said.

“We were impressed with the many benefits membership offers. I knew signing up was the right decision for our business,” he said.

Brogdon joined the association in August and has attended several events each month since then. He’s also decided the Remodelers Council is an interest he will pursue.

“In only a few months of membership, I have made numerous contacts and have developed meaningful relationships with other builders in the community,” Brogdon said.

“Every meeting provides me with an opportunity to meet someone new, while also providing me with a chance to nurture the relationships I’ve already created,” he said. “From builders, to insurance sales, to real estate, being a part of NEFBA has been extremely rewarding in just the short amount of time I’ve been involved.”

Brogdon has an appreciation of the value of NEFBA membership.

“NEFBA serves as a quality network of people who would otherwise be difficult to meet in our large construction industry,” he said. “Being surrounded by honest, hard-working, like-minded people is truly priceless in our field of work.”

Eager to share NEFBA benefits with others, Brogdon is eager to introduce others to the association.

“To me, it’s not a question of if you should join, but when you should join,” he said. “If someone is serious about their business and is committed to their community, NEFBA is the tool that can connect you to like-minded individuals and give you an opportunity to get to know the people in your industry.

“This business is all about relationships, and NEFBA is here to enhance the quality of those relationships by keeping us all connected,” Brogdon said.
