The first month of the last quarter of 2015 is time to take stock of what we’ve accomplished so far and what we need to do to reach our goals for the year.

Three months is not a long time, but enough time to make our efforts count.

When I look at the accomplishments we’ve achieved so far, our members attest to the fact that NEFBA membership is an increasingly valuable commodity.

Hear what members have to say about the importance of their active participation in association events, committees and decision-making processes. Read the member profiles in this issue for a first-hand report of the value of becoming involved

If you haven’t seen that benefit for yourself, perhaps it’s time to up the ante. Take part in councils and committees that coincide with your location and/or interests.

Then share your story with us. It motivates others to become more involved, and we all win.

I’m also convinced that our impact on local and regional regulatory and governing bodies is one of our greatest strengths.

In August, we enjoyed a special visit from U.S. Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla., from the Third District. And, in September, Florida Sen. Robert Bradley spoke to the Clay Builders Council.

Both visits indicate how important NEFBA’s members are to those in influential government positions.

Earlier this month, our annual Beast Feast was well attended by local civic leaders and government officials, whose support and decisions are crucial elements in our industry’s success.

It was an opportunity to shake hands, strengthen relationships and lay the groundwork for mutual efforts supporting the industry and the local economy.

Hats off to staff and members whose involvement in government affairs and membership services has strengthened our association.

And, I urge all our members to put in extra effort during these final three months of 2015.

We can point with pride to what we’ve done. Let’s plan to celebrate in grand style for reaching beyond all expectations and finishing the year on top.

Sincerely,

Rick Morales
