Audrey Lackie borrowed a phrase from Michael Jordan to share with the Women’s Council of Realtors: Make it happen.
“I really want our members to roll up their sleeves, get to work,” said Lackie, this year’s president of Women’s Council of Realtors Florida. “We’ve got a lot of things we need to do.”
The broker-owner of The Legends of Real Estate East Coast in Jacksonville Beach gave the keynote speech at a recent WCR’s District 1 event.
She encouraged members to get involved, not just in their local chapter, but to come to state and national WCR conferences as well.
Her goal this year is to ensure the education forums are equipped to provide relevant topics and provide the education and tools to help our members with their business.
“Not just with the growth of the chapters, but with your business,” Lackie said. “Something you can bring back home to make you more money.”
Lackie has worked in real estate since she was 20. But it wasn’t until 13 years ago that she became heavily involved in Women’s Council.
“It opened my eyes to everything I had been missing personally,” she said.
She began volunteering for the local Realtors association, became a major investor in its political action committee and has served on its board of directors.
Two years ago, she quit her job to open her own residential property management company, today 35 agents strong.
“I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the support of my Women’s Council family,” Lackie said. “I say that from the heart and I’m very passionate about that.”
Women’s Council supports its members through networking, referrals and education.
The median income of WCR members is $93,200 compared to $45,800 of full-time Realtors who are not members.
