At a recent luncheon hosted by Landon Homes in its Coquina Ridge Model Home, volumes of books were given to the Early Learning Coalition of North Florida.

The goal of the Landon’s March for Literacy project was to help the coalition bring literacy to children in the St. Augustine area.

Landon Homes and several other local real estate firms collected new and gently used pre-school books for children up to age 5.

Helping with the project were Olde Carriage Realty, Watson Realty, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Florida Network Realty, Florida Homes Realty and Mortgage, Re/Max 100 Realty, Lighthouse Realty, Davidson Realty and Coldwell Banker Premier Properties in World Golf Village.

“The Early Learning Coalition programs encourage children to enjoy reading and give them opportunities to spend lots of time with books,” said Marjorie Taylor of Landon Homes. “That’s the first step toward developing strong reading skills and a great start toward improving the statistics in the future.”
