Carvana opened its first Florida car-vending machine Wednesday in South Jacksonville at 4777 Lenoir Ave.
Customers buy their late-model used vehicles at carvana.com and choose for their purchases to be delivered to the vending machine or to another location.
If they choose the automated tower, they sign in and receive a commemorative coin to deposit in the receptacle. The vehicle is retrieved from within the eight-story building and brought to the ground floor. Carvana invested about $5 million in the project.
