The Ballbarians are back on top.
In a dominant 10-1 championship game performance, the Ballbarians took down the No. 1 seed, the Public Defenders, to claim the title in the 2025 JBA Young Lawyers Section Kickball League.
The win capped off a six-week season that featured a four-week regular season and two rounds of playoff games.
Entering the postseason, the Ballbarians were the No. 2 seed and wasted no time asserting themselves in the semifinals, defeating the No. 3 seed, Farah & Farah, to punch their ticket to the championship.
On the other side of the bracket, the top-seeded and previously undefeated Public Defenders held off the No. 4 seed Kickballerz in a competitive semifinal matchup to advance.
The Public Defenders then went head-to-head with the Ballbarians in the final game.
From the first inning, the Ballbarians’ offense found its rhythm, combining smart base running with well-placed kicks to build an early lead.
The defense remained locked in, holding the typically high-scoring Public Defenders to just one run throughout the game. Overall, the Public Defenders were a strong team that brought together fun and fierceness.
The JBA YLS Kickball League, held each summer, brings together legal professionals, including law students, from across Jacksonville for friendly but fiercely contested competition and camaraderie.
Teams from law firms, public agencies and other legal organizations compete in weekly matchups, building connections off the clock.
With the 2025 trophy in hand and a championship win in the books, the Ballbarians took home the title for the fourth time in the past six seasons.
The countdown to 2026 has already begun.
