The Bacardi Bottling Corp. announced Edwin Zayas as its new leader for Bacardi rum’s hub in Jacksonville.
“I now have the dream job overseeing every step in the production of our beautiful rum, from distillation to aging, to bottling and distribution – what an exciting challenge and responsibility,” Zayas, senior director, supply chain - Jacksonville and Puerto Rico, said in a July 29 news release.
His career at Bacardi spans almost two decades, most recently leading the Bacardi rum distillery in Puerto Rico. In his new role, Zayas will look after both the Jacksonville and Puerto Rico sites.
With a background in finance, he was finance director for the Bacardi supply chain across the Americas before he became operational lead at the company’s Puerto Rico site in 2020.
Zayas was recently named Industrial Leader for the North Region as his success was recognized at the Puerto Rico Manufacturing Excellence Awards.
Founded in 1972, Bacardi Bottling Corp. in Jacksonville is a Center of Excellence for bottling Bacardi rum branded products. The facility employs more than 200 people at a 92-acre campus in North Jacksonville.
